Our story

At the heart of everything we do is community.

Andy and Steph are the creative force behind some of East London’s most beloved neighbourhood hangouts. With a deep love for hospitality, design, and local culture, having lived here for over 20 years they’ve built a family of venues that feel like a second home - warm, welcoming, and full of character.

Their journey began in Walthamstow with Exale Brewery, a vibrant taproom nestled in a former furniture warehouse, known for its small-batch beers, inventive cocktails, and laid-back atmosphere. It quickly became a local staple - a place to unwind, catch up, and enjoy live music or a summer evening in the beer garden.

Next came The Three Colts Tavern in Bethnal Green - a pub that blends East End heritage with a modern edge. With a rotating kitchen residency, great drinks, and an ever-changing events calendar, it’s become a go-to for locals looking for something a little different.

William the Fourth is Andy and Steph’s third venture, continuing their mission to create spaces that bring people together. True to form, it’s welcoming, thoughtfully designed, and rooted in its community.

And they’re not stopping here. A fourth location is on the horizon, set to open later this year.
